CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR SCHOOL STRUCTURES WORTH BILLIONS OF SHILLINGS LAUNCHED
Mubende district local government leadership has today launched the construction of school structures worth three billion Uganda shillings
The Resident District Commissioner Mubende district Mrs Byabasaija Rose Mary has graced this ceremony at Mugungulu secondary school , Bagezza sub county in Mubende district.
The Resident District Commissioner Mubende district Mrs Byabasaija Rose Mary accompanied by the LCV chairman Hon Muhereza Ntambi Micheal , secretary for education Hon Tumusiime Gahanga Kiasanja , Assistant chief Administrative officer Mr. Ssalii Edison , District Education officer Mr. Kabuunga Asaph , district and sub county technical staff , sub county councilors during a colorful function has officially launched the construction work of school structures worth three billion one hundred thirty eight million six hundred seventy one thousand fifty three shillings-3,138,671,053
The construction works will include site leveling works, 2 classroom block(3), 2 unit science laboratory block , administration block , 2 unit teachers house(3), 2 unit teachers kitchen(3), 2 stance lined VIP latrine block for teacher house(3), 5 stance lined VIP latrine block-boys , 5 stance lined VIP latrine block-girls, external works, rain water harvest system with 5000litres water tank, ICT library block, multipurpose hall, sports field.
Mrs Byabasaija has appreciated the governments effort in providing quality education through construction of structures which provide a conducive environment for students but also sounded a warning to the contractor to provide quality work which will stand the test of time and worth the value of money allocated.
Hon Ntambi Michael the lcv chairman Mubende district has thanked the government for vailing the funds to be used in constructing the buildings and appealed to the contractor to work hand in hand with the immediate supervisors who include the local leadership, board of governors, and school leadership because they are the end users who need quality work.
Mr Kabuunga Asaph the District Education Officer appealed to the school authorities to take keen interest and supervision of the construction works because at the end of the day they are the intended beneficiaries.
This contract has been awarded to Niem establishment limited for a contract period from12/oct/2022 ending on 30 /oct 2024
