MUBENDE DISTRICT APPROVES BUDGET FOR FY2023/2024 worth 33,851,443,000

Mubende district council has today approved Mubende district local government budget estimates for the financial year 2023/2024 worth thirty three billion, eight hundred fifty one million, four hundred forty three thousand shillings only 33,851,443,000.

The budget estimates for the financial year 2023/2024 have been presented by Hon Kayengere John Secretary for Finance, planning, administration and investment at the district council chambers, Kaweeri, east division, Mubende municipality.

Hon Kayengere noted that;”” according to the local government Act, cap. 243, section 77(1) provides for that local government shall have the right and obligation to formulate, approve and execute their budgets and plans provided the budgets shall be balanced. The public finance management regulations 2016(under section 38-calender of activities schedule, not with standing regulation 36(activity18), the recommended date for consideration and approval of the annual budget must be done by 31st may.”

Hon Kayengere added that all funds shall be allocated to user departments as per the approved work plan and budget for the financial year 2023/2024 through the Program Budgeting System. the table below indicates how the funds are expected to be collected from the various sources
