WATER PROJECTS FY 2023/2024 LAUNCHED

The Resident District Commissioner Mubende district AL- Haji Lule Umaru, LCV Chairperson Hon Muhereza Ntambi Michael , Deputy CAO Mr. Mawa Geoffrey, members of the Works committee, technical officers has launched construction of solar piped water systems worth 221 million Uganda shillings

Projects launched include solar piped water system at Kifumbira Lci in Butololgo sub county worth 35 million Uganda shillings and solar piped water system at Naluwondwa lci in madudu sub county worth 186 million Uganda shillings

AL- Haji Lule Umaru RDC Mubende district noted that residents should jealously protect the construction materials for the projects against vandalism because this is their share on the national cake.

Mr. Lule has thanked the land lords who have volunteerly provided the parcels of land to install the water projects for the benefit of the communities.

RDC further appealed to engineer and the contractors to always display the bills of quantities for all the projects to enable the local leaders and the residents to monitor and supervise the construction works.

lcv chairman Hon Muhereza Ntambi Micheal has applauded the NRM government for the funds provided by the central government to implement the projects.

Hon Ntambi noted that public taps under these project will be used by the all the communities and a fee will be charged to help in repairs when the faults occur.

Mr Ntambi stressed that in this era Mubende district is shifting from the drilling and construction of hand pump bore holes to motorized and solar piped water systems because the water under this system will supply several villages thus covering a bigger population.

Mr. Mawa Geoffrey informed the residents that provision of solar piped water system is aimed at improving the health by reducing the use of unclean and safe water, reducing the long distance moved to fetch water for home use.
